André Luiz

André Luiz is not his real name. All that is known about him is that he was a medical doctor in the early 20th century, and that he practised his profession in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
In his own words, he opted for anonymity when he made the decision to send news from beyond the grave because he understood that ‘human existence has a great majority of fragile vessels, which cannot yet contain the whole truth’.
Emmanuel declares, in the preface to "Our Home", that he, "in order to bring valuable impressions to the companions of the world, needed to divest himself of all conventions, including that of his own name, lest he should wound beloved hearts, wrapped even in the old cloaks of illusion".
An immense curiosity surrounds the personality of the benefactor and hypotheses are put forward, without ever arriving at his real identity. André Luiz, however, faithful to the desire to serve without honour, and attentive to the commitment to the truth, continues to pour out blessings in the form of books, without bending to the general curiosity.
It matters what he has to say, spirit to spirit.
Vanity of name or past consecrations no longer echo in his lucid and ennobled heart.
André Luiz was, positively, among all the Benefactors who wrote to the incarnated, the one who maintained the greatest fidelity to the spiritism postulates, especially to Allan Kardec. His work, as far as form and substance are concerned, is noticeable in everything by the respect and loyalty maintained, throughout time, to the Codifier and to the Codification.
For more than four decades, André Luiz worked actively with the Spiritist Sowing, crowning it with excellence and clarifying paths.
Chico Xavier, the medium who served as a "bridge", now disincarnated, could no longer offer a sure hand in the transmission of his luminous teachings.
We do not know if André Luiz will return by the hand of another medium. Thus, it only remains for the spiritists and admirers to study his magnificent work, keeping silent on questions in order to keep to the lessons given, with a clear mind and a grateful heart.
