On 8 March 2025, the Spiritist Council of Banes was founded. Around 40 people from six centres in the municipality took part, three of them with legal recognition, two of them decided to join the Spiritist Federation of Holguín. The other centre (San Isidro el Labrador) announced that it would do so as soon as its situation is resolved, as it does not have its own premises. They are currently working in borrowed premises. Three other legally unrecognised centres have also decided to join the federation. Officials from the Ministry of Justice and the party were present. The brothers and sisters of Banes decided that Alexander Aguilera Ruíz would be their representative in the Spiritist Federation of Holguín. It was a day of great spiritual joy and fraternity.
