Centre Santiago Apóstol

The Santiago Apóstol Centre, situated in Galicito – Manzanillo, was founded in 1959 by Birgilio Reyes, who came from the Canary Islands. Enrique Rodríguez Martínez and Francisco Rodríguez Martínez, two brothers born in Niquero, helped to run the centre.

Both had developed spiritually at the Los Apostolados centre, founded by Juan Bautista Lavié, who came from France. Enrique Rodríguez passed away in 1973, and his son Euripe Rodríguez continued the mission until 2007. Aida Peña subsequently took over, and for the past ten years or so, Félix Montaña Ortiz has been running the centre.
