The "La Salvación del Ser" Centre was created by his grandmother Milanés Escott, who was of Jamaican origin. Known as Fofy, he began at the age of 11 to see and converse with spirits, family ancestors. At the age of 15 he was appointed by the Spirit "Guide of the Cross" as the new Director, as his grandmother was 90 years old and could not endure the Missions required by the law of the altar. As a beginner medium he sanctified the evil eye, baptised bottles of water for any weeds and consulted pregnant women so that they would not have any problems with their condition. He started in the Directorate by giving novenaries, masses for the deceased, despoiling work and other tasks assigned in the work. Years ago he was invited to the international spiritist congress held in Bayamo, was a vocal member of the GRAMFE in Granma and General Secretary of the spiritist societies in the municipality.

The labours take place on the first Sunday of every month.
