Introduction to the competition

The Unión Espírita – Nuevo Renacer, inspired by the Gospel of Jesus and the enlightened Spiritist Doctrine, is delighted to invite all mediumistic painters to take part in our first ‘Nuevo Renacer’ Mediumistic Painting Competition..

This competition aims to encourage the responsible practice of artistic mediumship, to elevate thought towards spiritual realities, and to provide a platform for the expression of the talent that Higher Spirits awaken in human instruments.

Central Theme

“The Garden of Rebirth”

The work should reflect, with sensitivity and beauty, the process of the soul’s transformation into a spiritual garden: inner rebirth, the blossoming of goodness, the light of the Gospel illuminating the way, reincarnation as an opportunity for spiritual evolution, and the loving presence of guardian spirits who nurture and cultivate the soul’s progress.

Who can take part?

Painting mediums of any age or nationality may participate, whether they work in a state of trance, semi-trance or full consciousness, provided that their work is the result of spiritual inspiration and is in harmony with the principles of Spiritist Doctrine.

Accepted techniques

Painting techniques

Oil paint, acrylics, watercolours, pastels, tempera, pencil or coloured pencils.

Supported formats

Canvas, card or paper.

Dimensions of the artwork

The recommended size is 50 × 70 cm. Smaller works will also be accepted.

Delivery method

Given the international nature of our Union, high-resolution photographs of the artwork will be accepted (at least two: one full-front view and one close-up).

Important: the artist will retain the original artwork. There is no need to physically send the painting.

Information that must accompany each consignment

Title of the work.
Full name of the medium.
A recent photograph of the participant and their country of residence
A brief explanation (maximum 10 lines) of the spiritual inspiration received and the message conveyed by the painting.

Assessment criteria

The jury will place particular emphasis on:

The purity and loftiness of the spiritual message.
Faithfulness to the principles of the Gospel and Spiritist Doctrine.
Originality and artistic beauty.
The emotion and light that the play radiates.
