Ejerci\u00f3 su profesi\u00f3n con mucha rectitud: siendo un ejemplo de eficacia en el campo profesional.&nbsp;Ayudaba siempre a todo el que lo solicitaba, aunque no pudiesen retribuir sus servicios.&nbsp;Fue tan grande en su conducta como en su modestia. Debilitado por una enfermedad pertinaz, en 1914, habiendo consultado a diversos m\u00e9dicos sin resultado positivo, fue curado por el m\u00e9dium Saturnino Favila, en la ciudad de Alagoi\u00f1as, con pases y agua fluidificada, complementando la cura con algunos remedios de Plantas Medicinales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-348df81c6265b93224d77b0d9b58583c wp-block-paragraph\">En esa \u00e9poca: en un viaje hacia Salvador, conoci\u00f3 a Jos\u00e9 Petitinga, que le invit\u00f3 a frecuentar la Uni\u00f3n Esp\u00edrita Baiana. A partir de entonces Filomeno de Miranda se interes\u00f3 por el estudio y pr\u00e1ctica del Espiritismo, convirti\u00e9ndose en uno de los m\u00e1s firmes adeptos de sus ense\u00f1anzas. Fiel disc\u00edpulo de Petitinga, fue un aut\u00e9ntico embajador del Movimiento Esp\u00edrita de Bah\u00eda, con capacidad para resolver todos los asuntos pertinentes de los Centros Esp\u00edritas.&nbsp;Al servicio de la Causa, visitaba peri\u00f3dicamente las Sociedades Esp\u00edritas de la Capital y del Interior, procurando soluciones para cualquier dificultad.
