O Bar\u00e3o Carl Du Prel foi destacado fil\u00f3sofo e um dos maiores pensadores modernos e tamb\u00e9m um dos mais sutis pesquisadores das coisas do Esp\u00edrito.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-deba8671a4ee484f3b487f7c67fba184 wp-block-paragraph\">Oficial do Ex\u00e9rcito e doutor em filosofia pela Universidade de Tubingen, participou, juntamente com Lombroso, Schiaparelli, Chiaia, Brofferio, Ermacora, Richet e Aksakof, das famosas experimenta\u00e7\u00f5es medi\u00fanicas, realizadas em Mil\u00e3o, no ano de 1892. Ingressou no Ex\u00e9rcito, a fim de satisfazer as aspira\u00e7\u00f5es de seu pai. Promovido a tenente, tomou parte em v\u00e1rias batalhas na Baviera. Comandou o campo de concentra\u00e7\u00e3o em Nemburg. Posteriormente abandonou a carreira militar, no posto de capit\u00e3o, em 1872.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-90cd12f669304709c9f9b8cb43cdb2eb wp-block-paragraph\">Passou o resto de sua vida em Munich, dedicando-se, primeiramente, aos estudos de filosofia e est\u00e9tica, interessando-se sobremaneira pelo estudo dos fen\u00f4menos esp\u00edritas. Influenciado pela filosofia de Kant, inclinou-se, sob a orienta\u00e7\u00e3o de Hartmann a uma aproxima\u00e7\u00e3o entre Schopenhauer e o Darwinismo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-c912072f0d96909192b671215f4c19c3 wp-block-paragraph\">A primeira edi\u00e7\u00e3o alem\u00e3 da obra de Alexandre Aksakof \"Animismo e Espiritismo\", refutando a obra do Dr. Hartmann, foi publicada sob o t\u00edtulo \"A Hip\u00f3tese dos Esp\u00edritos e seus Fantasmas\". Aparentemente essa pol\u00eamica originou a convers\u00e3o de Du Prel ao Espiritismo, pois t\u00e3o logo Aksakof, por motivo de sa\u00fade, obrigou-se a cessar a controv\u00e9rsia, Du Prel encarregou-se de sustent\u00e1-la, contra seu antigo mestre. A produ\u00e7\u00e3o bibliogr\u00e1fica de Carl Du Prel foi consider\u00e1vel (ultrapassa a duas dezenas). Entre elas destacamos \"O Espiritismo\", \"Lucidez e A\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0 Dist\u00e2ncia\", \"A Descoberta da Alma por Meio das Ci\u00eancias Ocultas\", etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-8f97187b799c8811b007b00721bc038f wp-block-paragraph\">Numa de suas obras escreveu: \"Enquanto o homem permanecer na d\u00favida se \u00e9 uma criatura f\u00edsica e mortal ou um ser metaf\u00edsico imortal, n\u00e3o ter\u00e1 o direito de gabar-se da sua consci\u00eancia pessoal, nem de limitar-se a ter a morte como um salto nas trevas.
