No dia 7 de maio de 1833, em Hamburgo, nasceu Johannes Brahms, amante do estudo, e que mostrava-se sempre acess\u00edvel a tudo que fosse nobre e belo e participava tanto das tristezas como das alegrias alheias. A caracter\u00edstica fundamental da sua m\u00fasica \u00e9 a de uma resigna\u00e7\u00e3o eleg\u00edaca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Na opini\u00e3o de Schumann, o ent\u00e3o jovem Brahms apresenta todos os ind\u00edcios que autorizam a proclam\u00e1-lo um predestinado; e mais adiante sentenciou: \u201cquando esse mo\u00e7o se resolver a lidar com o coro e a orquestra, quando essas potentes massas lhe emprestarem a sua for\u00e7a, ent\u00e3o ele h\u00e1 de proporcionar-nos vis\u00f5es ainda mais deslumbrantes dos mist\u00e9rios do mundo dos Esp\u00edritos\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A mediunidade de Brahms propiciou-lhe ofertar-nos m\u00fasicas de tal sentimentalidade que nosso esp\u00edrito, ao ouvi-las, parece desprender-se do corpo som\u00e1tico, nessa \u00e2nsia insopit\u00e1vel de alcandorar-se a et\u00e9reas regi\u00f5es de luz, sabedoria e amor!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quando contava cerca 64 anos de idade, seu corpo enfermo, atacado de c\u00e2ncer no f\u00edgado, come\u00e7ou a ceder lentamente. No dia 2 de abril de 1897 perdeu os sentidos e, na manh\u00e3 seguinte, \u00e0s oito horas e meia, fecharam-se os seus olhos azuis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
