Ap\u00f3s a morte do marido, em 1852, ela tentou se comunicar com ele, o que a levou ao espiritualismo no final do Segundo Imp\u00e9rio (per\u00edodo hist\u00f3rico entre 1852 e 1870). Al\u00e9m dessa motiva\u00e7\u00e3o, ela estava interessada em demonstrar a sobreviv\u00eancia ap\u00f3s a morte, seguindo uma abordagem cient\u00edfica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-291255564b19fcc12288d44d0b808d9b\">Como m\u00e9dium, ele fundou seu pr\u00f3prio grupo espiritista, que se reunia todas as quartas-feiras e do qual participavam ativamente as grandes personalidades da arte e da literatura da Fran\u00e7a na \u00e9poca ou os seguidores mais pr\u00f3ximos do espiritismo. Seu principal objetivo era ajudar todos aqueles que desejavam aprofundar sua paix\u00e3o pelas ci\u00eancias espiritistas. Suas qualidades morais, sua bondade natural e sua inesgot\u00e1vel caridade lhe renderam o apelido de Bonne Maman (Boa M\u00e3e).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-aae25a023e01a67a46e43a48b7d0ad5e\">Em 1897, aos 76 anos de idade, publicou sua principal obra espiritista (La Survie), com pref\u00e1cio de Camille Flammarion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color has-small-font-size wp-elements-0d0ac9360708aebd41c61b94a15cc9e3\">Rufina Noeggerath morreu em 1908, aos 87 anos.
