Naci\u00f3 en D\u00fcsseldorf, el 13 de diciembre de 1797, en el seno de una familia jud\u00eda. Su destino era el comercio, por lo que fue enviado por su padre a casa de un t\u00edo banquero en Hamburgo. Pronto se vio que no ten\u00eda dotes para los negocios y su t\u00edo lo envi\u00f3 a Bonn a estudiar Derecho. Pero el joven Harry, como se llamaba entonces, se interes\u00f3 por los asuntos literarios y sigui\u00f3 cursos de literatura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Berl\u00edn fue su entorno m\u00e1s favorable, ya que le permiti\u00f3 asistir a salones literarios y seguir la filosof\u00eda pol\u00edtica de Hegel. Poeta y periodista, se hizo famoso por sus poemas y libros de viajes. Asqueado por el clima antisemita del pa\u00eds, emigr\u00f3 a Par\u00eds en 1831.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All\u00ed se convirti\u00f3 en corresponsal de los principales peri\u00f3dicos alemanes. Fue uno de los periodistas m\u00e1s inquietos y controvertidos de su \u00e9poca. Para el Diario General de Augsburgo, describi\u00f3 la vida francesa, siendo sus temas constantes el parlamento, la prensa, el mundo art\u00edstico, el teatro y la m\u00fasica.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Su influencia fue enorme tanto dentro como fuera de Alemania. En la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, todos los poetas alemanes parec\u00edan ser Heinous.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Su poes\u00eda es de un lirismo inicialmente melanc\u00f3lico. Sus poemas sentimentales est\u00e1n llenos de infelicidad y lamentos amorosos. Algunos de sus poemas de amor alcanzaron fama universal y m\u00e1s tarde fueron musicados por Schubert, Schumann y muchos otros compositores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Escribi\u00f3 poemas dedicados al mar, en verso libre. Y, por \u00faltimo, poes\u00eda pol\u00edtica, con versos que retrataban situaciones de la \u00e9poca, como Los tejedores, poema inspirado en la huelga de los hambrientos tejedores silesianos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Como prosista, se le considera uno de los m\u00e1s \u00e1giles de la literatura en lengua alemana de cualquier \u00e9poca. Sus obras m\u00e1s ambiciosas son La escuela rom\u00e1ntica y Sobre la historia de la religi\u00f3n y la filosof\u00eda en Alemania. En esta \u00faltima, Heine parece querer completar el libro de Mme de St\u00e4el sobre Alemania, intentando mostrar a los franceses el pensamiento est\u00e9tico y filos\u00f3fico de su pa\u00eds. Contiene la profec\u00eda de un despertar revolucionario de la conciencia alemana y, sobre todo, la creencia del poeta en la importancia universal del pensamiento de Hegel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sufri\u00f3 dificultades econ\u00f3micas, se enfrent\u00f3 a conflictos pol\u00edticos y la enfermedad acab\u00f3 por victimizarle. Sufri\u00f3 una par\u00e1lisis y muri\u00f3 el 17 de febrero de 1856 en Par\u00eds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
