Edgard Pereira Armond<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Edgard Pereira Armond was born on 14 June 1894 in Guaratinguet\u00e1 (Brazil), in the Para\u00edba valley. From a humble family, at the age of 21 Armond joined the S\u00e3o Paulo Public Force, where he began the career that would give him the title by which he is still known today: \u00abComandante\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He participated in various military movements, taking part in the revolutions of 1922 and 1924, where he was part of the occupation troops on the Brazilian borders with Paraguay and Argentina. In 1926, he graduated as a dentist from the School of Pharmacy and Dentistry of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a busy professional life, he worked on the construction of a road linking the cities of Paraibuna and S\u00e3o Sebasti\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, he began to study and work with Spiritism. He took part in a group of spiritism studies and practices at the invitation of Canuto de Abreu, visiting various spiritism centres on the outskirts of the capital dedicated exclusively to the practice of physical effects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1938, the Commendatore was involved in a car accident in Dom Pedro Park, S\u00e3o Paulo, in which he broke both knees and suffered other injuries. After several operations and much treatment, he was almost unable to walk for six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1939, being considered unfit for military service, he was invited to take up the post of secretary general of the Spiritist Federation of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo, after restructuring his spiritual work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Endowed with an upright and firm character and high morals, he abhorred malice, shunning chatter and vulgar questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a speaker, he had a persuasive discourse, accompanied by easy, clear and objective language, which left no doubt about the subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a writer, he was a profound student of psychic phenomena and possessed extensive knowledge on the subject of mediumnity. He wrote a series of 21 textbooks, most of them for the schools he created, the others for the Fraternity of the Disciples of Jesus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make up for the lack of reliable and trained mediums in the FEESP, the Razin Group was created, consisting of seven members who started working in the Federation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Razin Group meetings saw the first manifestations of the Spirit Ismael, Jesus' proxy for the Spiritual leadership of Brazil. Valuable Spirits from the Fraternity of the Holy Sepulchre and the Fraternity of the Crusaders were also presented. The Commander was then introduced to Spirit Razin, with the objective of helping him to set up the \u00abEscuela de Aprendices del Evangelio\u00bb (School of Apprentices of the Gospel), which would take place in 1950, so that the new \u00abDisc\u00edpulos de Jes\u00fas\u00bb (Disciples of Jesus) would be prepared through study, work and discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1944, he founded the newspaper \"O Semeador\" and directed the radio programme \"Hora Esp\u00edrita\", which was broadcast by R\u00e1dio Tupi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1947, Edgard Armond founded the USE - Uni\u00f3n Social Esp\u00edrita (Social Spiritist Union).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1950, after creating the School for Gospel Apprentices, Edgard also created the Mediums' Course, aimed at improving exchanges with the spirit world, and the Fraternity of the Disciples of Jesus, as a grouping body for workers in the religious field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to illness, the Commander asked to leave the Federation in 1967, but continued to work remotely in the field of publicity and organisation of spiritism centres and organisations, even in foreign countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1973, he founded the Evangelical Spiritist Alliance, where, from 1980, he collaborated in the foundation of Sector III of the Fraternity of the Disciples of Jesus, continuing the Expansion of Religious Spiritism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He died on 29 November 1982, at 4.30 am, at the Osvaldo Cruz Hospital, in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo, after 88 years of active life in favour of the Consoling Doctrine of the Spirits.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
