What binds the Spirit to the new body?<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

At the moment of conception. It is from that very moment that the Spirit becomes fluidically united with the body, and until the child is born this fluidic bond grows ever closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a definite union from the moment of conception until the cessation of physical life, and no other spirit could inhabit that body. During that interval between conception and birth a disturbance begins to seize the spirit, which would be in the same state as the spirit of an incarnate during sleep, and as the hour of birth approaches his ideas fade away, as does the memory of his past. He enters into a greater confusion than at the moment of death, and, above all, a more prolonged one; at death, the spirit comes out of bondage, at birth he enters into it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Causing the interruption of life from the first moment of conception is a great mistake. Depending on the circumstances of each case, with its aggravating and extenuating circumstances, there will be greater or lesser guilt, but those responsible will always have, at the very least, to repair the damage committed, in this or future existences. Induced abortion is a transgression of divine law; those responsible commit a crime by taking the life of the child before it is born, and prevent the soul from facing the trials that are its due. Nor is an abortion justifiable under divine law on account of certain illnesses, physical or mental defects of the child to be born; for behind these difficult situations there are trials and atonements necessary for the spirit and its family environment. An abortion would only be justifiable in those exceptional cases where the life of the mother is in danger, and the Spirits inform us that in the event of a choice between saving one life or the other, the life of the mother must be saved.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
