Mai 1862 in Oldenburg, Deutschland, geboren und studierte an der Universit\u00e4t M\u00fcnchen. Er war forensischer Psychiater und Mitglied der deutschen Aristokratie und begann sich 1889 f\u00fcr parapsychologische Forschung zu interessieren. Er arbeitete 40 Jahre lang mit Charles Richet, Cesar Lombroso, Oliver Lodge und vielen anderen an Untersuchungen zusammen. Obwohl er offenbar aus wissenschaftlicher Konservativit\u00e4t heraus der Medialit\u00e4t und dem Fortleben des Geistes z\u00f6gerlich gegen\u00fcberstand, war er dennoch voll und ganz von der Realit\u00e4t der Medialit\u00e4t \u00fcberzeugt. Er begann seine Arbeit mit dem Medium Eusapia Palladino, an deren Sitzungen in Rom er bereits 1894 teilnahm. Er folgte ihr durch ganz Europa und lud sie zweimal als seinen Gast nach M\u00fcnchen ein. Aber er erkl\u00e4rte seinen Glauben an die Realit\u00e4t ihrer Ph\u00e4nomene erst 1914 und ver\u00f6ffentlichte seine Aufzeichnungen aus Rom und M\u00fcnchen erst 1920 in der Physikalischen Sitzung des Mediumismus. Viele Jahre lang studierte er die Materialisationsph\u00e4nomene von Eva C. (Marthe B\u00e9raud) in M\u00fcnchen und im Haus von Juliette Bisson in Paris. Sein Buch \u201ePhenomena of Materialisation\u201d, das 1914 in Deutschland zur gleichen Zeit wie Bissons Werk in Frankreich ver\u00f6ffentlicht wurde, ist reichlich mit Fotografien illustriert. Er untersuchte auch andere klassische Medien wie Willi Schneider, Rudi Schneider, Stanislawa und Valentine Dencausse. Er war einer der gr\u00f6\u00dften Forscher auf dem Gebiet der physikalischen Effekte in Deutschland. Er beschaffte sich Haare des materialisierten Geistes, verglich sie mikroskopisch mit denen des Mediums und stellte fest, dass sie nicht von derselben Person stammen konnten. Er f\u00fchrte auch chemische Untersuchungen an einem bestimmten Teil des Ektoplasmas durch, das zu Asche verbrannt worden war. Unter den Elementen fand er Natriumchlorid (Kochsalz) und Calciumphosphat. Es gelang ihm, das Ektoplasma zu filmen, das aus dem Mund des Mediums austrat. Baron Albert von Schrenck-Notzing verstarb am 12.
