Ist die Mutterliebe eine Tugend oder ein Menschen und Tieren gemeinsames instinktartiges Gef\u00fchl?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eSie ist das eine wie das andere. Die Natur schenkte der Mutter die Liebe zu ihren Kindern mit dem Ziel ihrer Erhaltung, aber bei den Tieren bleibt diese Liebe auf die stofflichen Bed\u00fcrfnisse beschr\u00e4nkt: Sie h\u00f6rt auf, wenn die Pflege unn\u00f6tig wird. Beim Menschen dauert diese Liebe das ganze Leben hindurch und beinhaltet eine Hingabe und Selbstlosigkeit, die Tugenden zu nennen sind. Sie \u00fcberlebt selbst den Tod und folgt dem Kind \u00fcber das Grab hinaus; ihr seht wohl, das in ihr noch etwas anderes liegt als beim Tier.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Da die Mutterliebe in der Natur begr\u00fcndet ist,warum gibt es dann M\u00fctter, die ihre Kinder hassen, und oft von deren Geburt an?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eDas ist zuweilen eine vom Geist des Kindes gew\u00e4hlte Pr\u00fcfung oder auch eine S\u00fchne, wenn es selbst einst ein schlechter Vater oder eine schlechte Mutter oder ein schlechtes Kind in einem anderen Dasein gewesen war. Jedenfalls kann die schlechte Mutter nur von einem b\u00f6sen Geist beseelt sein, der das Kind zu bel\u00e4stigen strebt, damit es in der von ihm gewollten Pr\u00fcfung unterliegt. Aber diese Verletzung der Naturgesetze wird nicht ungestraft bleiben und des Kindes Geist wird f\u00fcr die von ihm \u00fcberwundenen Hindernisse belohnt werden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wenn Eltern Kinder haben, die ihnen Kummer bereiten, sind sie dann nicht zu entschuldigen, wenn sie f\u00fcr dieselben nicht die Z\u00e4rtlichkeit f\u00fchlen, die sie im entgegengesetzten Fall f\u00fcr sie gehabt h\u00e4tten?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201eNein, denn es ist dies eine ihnen anvertraute Aufgabe und es ist ihre Mission, alles zu tun, um sie zum Guten zu f\u00fchren.
